The GPS Led Me to His Mistress

GoodNovel Completed

While my husband, Don Raffaele Borgia, is away on a business trip, I drive out to a warehouse on the outskirts of the city to take care of some business. I log into the car's navigation system and enter my destination, but the familiar mechanical voice is nowhere to be heard. Instead, a sweet, soft female voice comes through. "Amore mio, Alice will be your navigator today. Hearing my voice will be just like having me right by your side. You'll reach your destination in ten minutes." The car falls silent. I freeze in the driver's seat. Who the hell is Alice? I tighten my grip on the steering wheel and immediately call Raffaele. "When did you change the voice on your car's navigation system to some woman named Alice?" There's a noticeable pause in his breathing on the other end. Then he chuckles. "Oh, Alice Conti, my secretary. She borrowed my car to run an errand a while back. She probably changed it herself. What's wrong? Is the voice bothering you?" He sounds a little too casual. "I'll delete the voice pack when I get back. Don't overthink it. Alice and I are strictly business." Without asking more questions, I hang up and open the navigation history, only to notice the same address appears more than ten times. I start the car and follow the directions. Eventually, I pull up outside a familiar villa. My heart sinks when I look up and recognize the place.

Eventually, I pull up outside a familiar villa. My heart sinks when I look up and recognize the place. Chapter 1 Last month, Raffaele Borgia and I came to see this villa specifically because we were thinking of buying it. The garden was filled with roses, and there was even a massive swimming pool out back. I fell in love with it at first sight and decided I wanted to buy it. But Raffaele had barely checked his phone when he told me someone else had already bought the villa. We had missed out by seconds, so I had no choice but to leave disappointed. The villa's butler recognized my license plate and knew I was the Donna of the Borgia family. He dared not stop me. Instead, he respectfully opened the gates and led me into the living room. A woman was sitting on the couch, sipping champagne. Golden curls fell over her shoulders, framing her delicate features. That was Alice Conti, Raffaele's secretary. Seeing me, Alice panicked a little. She quickly composed herself, rose from the couch, and greeted me with a polite smile. "Donna, what brings you here?" "The navigation," I said, calmly looking around the entire villa. "You changed Raffaele's car navigation to your own voice, huh? Is this villa yours, too?" Alice blinked, looking as meek and innocent as ever. "Oh, mi dispiace, Donna. I forgot to change the voice settings when I returned the car to Don Borgia. "As for the villa, my boyfriend rented it for me. I'm only staying here. I moved in less than a month ago." Raffaele was arrogant and suspicious by nature. If his secretary had dared to set his car navigation to a voice this intimate, he would've thrown her into the sea to feed the fish long ago. My eyes settled on her neck. She was wearing a familiar ruby-and-pearl necklace. It belonged to Raffaele's mother and could only be passed down to the family's Donna. On the day of our arranged marriage ceremony, Raffaele had personally told me that he would give me the ruby-and-pearl necklace when the time was right. For the past two years, I had never worn it. Yet now, it was hanging around Alice's neck. When Alice noticed me staring at it, she instinctively raised a hand and tried to tuck the necklace beneath her collar. Her eyes darted away from mine. Guilt practically radiated from her. I chuckled. "Did your boyfriend give you the necklace, too?" She froze, silent for a whole minute. I sneered inwardly. Alice was nothing more than an ordinary secretary at Raffaele's company. There was no way she could afford a villa like this on her salary. Even if she and her boyfriend had paid for it together, they couldn't possibly have come up with that kind of money. Last month, Raffaele and I only visited the villa once. The moment we arrived, we were told it had already been sold. Yet his car navigation history showed that he had visited this place 18 times last month. I pulled out my phone and tried to call him about the necklace. I tried several times, but every attempt went straight to an automated message saying he was temporarily unavailable. Alice stood nearby, watching me call him. She covered her mouth in surprise, then asked in a puzzled tone, "Donna, do you really have so little faith in Don Borgia? You saw a navigation record and came all the way to my home to confront me?" I ignored her, turned around, and got back into my car. I had barely driven out of the neighborhood when Raffaele called. I let the phone ring for a long while before picking it up. "Gabriella, I heard from Alice that you went to see her." His voice was gentle, coaxing me. "Amore mio, are you jealous? How about I bring you that bag you love when I get back from my business trip?" Raffaele was abroad and supposedly couldn't take my calls, yet he had somehow learned immediately that Alice was upset from my visit. He couldn't even wait to call me and find out what I knew. I took a deep breath and smiled bitterly. "No. I only went to take another look at the villa because I liked it so much." He chuckled. Assuming I hadn't noticed anything, he softened his tone. "Oh, is that all? I thought you'd misunderstood something and were giving me the cold shoulder." "No," I replied flatly. After I hung up, the last bit of hope inside me disappeared. Raffaele was cheating on me. Chapter 2 After dealing with the hijacked shipment at the warehouse, I drove to the private estate of my best friend, Camilla Moretti. She was one of the top cyber intelligence experts in the underworld and the Vitale family's Consigliere. I told her everything that had just happened and asked her to dig into Alice's background and relationship status. Soon, she turned toward me with a grim look. "You were right, Gabriella. That bastardo Raffaele is actually cheating on you. Alice is his mistress." Camilla turned the screen toward me and let me see for myself. I opened the chat history between Alice and Raffaele. "Don Borgia, thank you for the beautiful villa. I love it." He sent her a kissing emoji. "Glad you love it. Move in tomorrow. You'll fall in love with the garden there." There were also numerous large transfers in Alice's account. Camilla traced every single one back to an anonymous private account belonging to Raffaele. She hacked into Alice's social media account. I scrolled through her old posts and found a selfie that showed the ruby-and-pearl necklace around her neck. The caption read, "Grazie mille, amore mio. I love this beautiful necklace!" Then the screen refreshed. Alice's latest post appeared. Attached was a screenshot of a project brief for an arms deal. The caption read, "Amore mio is giving me the arms deal he's been working on for ages. He said I've been performing well lately and will give me a special promotion." My fingers froze over the screen. A chill crawled over me. That arms deal was a project I had spent an entire year securing. I had worked every connection I had and negotiated with countless people before finally getting my hands on it. I never imagined Raffaele would take the deal I fought so hard to win and hand it to Alice, just to give her a stepping stone and pad her credentials. I saved all of Alice and Raffaele's messages, the transfer records, and screenshots of her social media posts onto a USB drive. When I got home, I went into his study and turned on his laptop. It was password-protected. I tried his birthday first—wrong. Then I tried mine—still wrong. With one last attempt, I entered Alice's birthday. The laptop unlocked. I smiled bitterly, then opened a file titled "Promotion List". Alice's name was right at the top. I found another file labeled "Reason for Promotion". Inside was the very arms deal I had spent a year securing. There was no way I would let my hard work become a promotion gift from Raffaele to his mistress. Just then, my phone rang. I glanced at the good-night messages Raffaele sent me every evening. Suppressing the disgust rising in my stomach, I called my father, the Don of the Vitale family. "Papa, I want to hand over the arms deal I've been working on all this time. I want it to become a Vitale family operation." After hanging up, I couldn't help wondering what Raffaele's face would look like when he learned who Alice truly was. Chapter 3 Three days later, Raffaele returned to the family after finishing his business trip. The top-floor conference room at the Borgia family headquarters was under heavy security. Today was the day Alice would be officially promoted. The room was packed with the family elders, lawyers, and company shareholders. Alice sat quietly beside Raffaele in a fitted black skirt suit, her makeup flawless. The excitement and smugness in her eyes were practically overflowing. As soon as the meeting began, Alice took the initiative to give her report. "Securing this arms deal wasn't easy. I hit one wall after another and had to risk my life negotiating with enemy soldati several times before finally getting it. "I genuinely want to see the Borgia family grow stronger, which is why I worked so hard to secure this deal for the Don." Hearing that, I almost laughed out loud. Those heartfelt words had been mine. I had told Raffaele those exact words night after night in bed after coming home covered in bruises and injuries. I foolishly thought that he listened because he cared about how hard I worked for the family. But now, I knew the truth. He was nothing but a thief. He stole my hard work and turned it into Alice's achievements. At the head of the table, Raffaele sat in a perfectly tailored black suit. Beside his hand lay the seal that symbolized the Don's authority. He sat straight, listening attentively. His gentle eyes were filled with admiration and affection I had never seen directed at me before. Raffaele didn't notice I was already standing outside the door. Alice switched on the projector and displayed the entire route along with its enormous commercial value. "Securing this arms route will bring us hundreds of millions in additional profits every year!" Instantly, the elders nodded in approval, and applause filled the room. Raffaele raised a hand to silence the room, then looked at her with a smile. "I didn't expect you to pull this off. This arms deal was incredibly difficult to secure. It was never something an ordinary secretary should've been responsible for." Everyone in the room broke into applause again, convinced that Alice had secured the project through her ability. I closed my eyes and tightened my grip on the USB drive. She stood before the screen, thrilled and triumphant. Raffaele was clearly pleased with her performance. "I believe Alice deserves a higher position." His gaze was firm as he announced the promotion he had been planning for a long time. "Effective immediately, Alice is officially promoted to the Borgia family Capo." With that, I pushed the conference room doors and walked in. "I object!" Chapter 4 Every elder and shareholder in the room turned to look at me. Raffaele frowned. Alice stood frozen in place. Neither of them seemed to have expected me to show up at such a high-level family meeting. I walked straight to the center of the room. Raffaele's face darkened as he sat at the head of the table. His voice was low and stern. "Gabriella, this is a family meeting, not a place for you to throw a jealous fit." I ignored him and calmly addressed everyone in the room. "Salve, I'm Gabriella. The arms deal Alice just presented belongs to me." The room fell silent. Everyone stared at me in disbelief, followed by a wave of hushed whispers. The admiration they had shown Alice only moments ago vanished from their eyes. I looked at Alice, now pale, then at Raffaele, whose hands had curled into fists. I plugged the USB drive into the system. The main display showed a detailed map of warehouse locations and smuggling routes I had secured over the past year. Every route was marked clearly. "The project she just presented does sound difficult," I said. I scoffed and opened my message history with every arms supplier involved in the operation. "But why is the route map you just described identical to the one on my map? Do you have access to these underground bases, too?" Alice shivered from head to toe. I continued to present photographs of every warehouse to everyone. "Signorina Conti, why don't I call the crew bosses of these warehouse bases right now and have them confirm everything in front of all the elders?" I casually pointed to one of the warehouses on the map and smiled at her. "Why don't you tell everyone how the goods in this warehouse were retrieved from the enemy?" The room erupted in murmurs and doubt. Alica's face turned deathly pale. Her eyes darted around anxiously as she stammered, unable to answer me. Of course, she couldn't. She was never involved. Overwhelmed, she broke down in tears and turned to Raffaele with absolute vulnerability. "Don Borgia, I didn't steal her project! She's been targeting me this whole time!" Her blatant attempt to twist the truth almost made me laugh. Raffaele shot to his feet, fury burning in his eyes as he barked, "Gabriella, do you have any proof? Just because you're the Donna doesn't mean you can accuse others without proof! You're disgracing the position you hold!" I wished I could applaud him for his blatant favoritism. "Talking about disgrace, huh? Soon, you'll find out who's the true disgrace once you actually use this arms route."
