It tells the story of Xu Mu, a modern civil engineer who is accidentally transported to a small frontier town at the end of the Daji Dynasty. War is raging without end, and the people have been driven from their homes.
In this world, Xu Mu starts out as a lowly laborer. By chance, he takes in Jiang Caiwei, a maid-wife who has fled as a refugee. At his side is Si Hu, a brother-in-arms strong enough to kill a tiger with his bare hands.
To survive in an age of chaos, the few of them struggle on--day by day, fighting to stay alive.
