In the early 1960s, to support national development, the government urgently needed uranium. Suspecting that a Japanese Kwantung Army fortress in Xing'an Mountains concealed this resource, forest worker Biaozi, who had previously been forced to build the fortress, ventures into the mountains with two foreign experts and his son. Along the way, they encounter bizarre events and, upon reaching the fortress, uncover unexpected secrets.
