In the early Republican era of China, master magician Shu Rong's fiancée, Li Muxue, tragically drowns on stage during a performance. Three years later, however, a woman who looks identical to Li Muxue suddenly enters his life. To reclaim his fame and fortune and clear his name of any wrongdoing, Shu Rong conspires with his props master, Cheng Xin, to stage a sensational performance, pitting all of his talent and ingenuity against this mysterious woman.
