On Christmas Eve, Chicago mafia godfather Dante Moretti loses his wife and daughter to an ambush set by his own brother. As he pulls the trigger before their coffins, his blood awakens a magic lamp: spend ten years in another world as the husband of New York's richest woman, Victoria Sterling, grant her and her daughter every demand, and his family will live again.
For ten years Victoria makes him take her name, sleep in the guest room and serve her in front of everyone, sure he can't live without her. With ten days left on the contract, her rock-star first love returns, and frame-up after frame-up lands on Dante. Victoria never realizes the man she orders around has been counting down to the day he walks away.
